Defy Gravity with VOLUMA
As you age, it’s not just about lines and wrinkles. Your cheeks can lose volume and your skin may begin to sag. JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC is the first and only FDA-approved injectable gel to instantly add volume to your cheek area to correct age-related volume loss in adults over the age of 21. It can provide you with a more contoured look and a subtle lift for up to two years with optimal treatment.
VOLUMA is formulated to specifically target volume loss in the cheek and cheekbones. At ProMD Health, Dr. George Gavrila has years of experience using facial fillers to create stunning results for patients wanting to reverse the signs of aging.
Treatment and results
Dr. Gavrila’s trained eye and skill will leave you feeling years younger and much more comfortable with your appearance. Through the intricate use of dermal and intra-dermal fillers such as Voluma, the NEW Ultherapy procedures, microneedling as well as Botox, your face will appear younger, skin will appear firmer, and your face will become rejuvenated. Dr. Gavrila believes that a youthful appearance and beauty can be highlighted at any age. His conservative approach will have you looking and feeling younger but won’t leave you with that ‘fake’ ‘plastic-like’ look most patients are often concerned with.
VOLUMA is a facial filler that is created from hyaluronic acid, a hydrating protein that is found naturally in our skin. As we get older, our face loses its structural support; when combined with resorption of bone and fat, our face can start to have a sagging and hollow appearance. Volume loss in our face can cause us to look older than we really are. When injected into the cheek, cheek bone, or chin area, VOLUMA replaces the volume that we lose over time with age. VOLUMA was formulated to spread easily in the skin, which provides even and natural looking results. VOLUMA helps reverse the signs of aging by replenishing volume and restoring a fuller, more youthful appearance.
Am I a good candidate?
Good candidates for VOLUMA are people who are dissatisfied with the appearance of their sagging or hollow face. Prospective VOLUMA patients want a non-surgical way to bring volume back to their face and have a healthier, younger look. At ProMD Health, injectable expert Dr. Gavrila and his skin care team are committed to using VOLUMA to create natural, yet noticeable results for each patient.
VOLUMA FAQs
Deciding which dermal filler treatment is right for you can be a difficult one. Below, Dr. Gavrila has answered some frequently asked questions for prospective VOLUMA patients.
Do VOLUMA injections hurt?
A: Dr. Gavrila wants to ensure that each patient is comfortable during a dermal filler injection session. One of the advantages of VOLUMA is that it is already formulated with lidocaine, which is a numbing agent that enters the skin during the injection.
What are the results of VOLUMA?
A: The FDA was given data that VOLUMA can have lasting effects for up to two years, although results depend on the individual patient. VOLUMA creates fullness in the cheeks, cheekbone, and chin areas in order to provide a full and youthful appearance. While the results of VOLUMA are not the same as facial plastic surgery, patients can see a noticeable difference in the look of their face. Dr. Gavrila is committed to providing quality results for each patient in order to help them achieve their goals.
Does VOLUMA work on wrinkles and fine lines?
A: VOLUMA is the only facial filler that is FDA approved to add volume to the cheek area and was specially formulated to treat facial volume loss. VOLUMA works best when injected into the deeper layers of skin where it fills out hollow areas. For the treatment of more superficial wrinkles and fine lines, Dr. Gavrila may recommend other injectables such as Restylane, Restylane Lyft, Juvederm, and Botox. Patients may also want to seek Ultherapy which is a new type of non-surgical, non-invasive procedure that uses ultrasound and the body’s own natural healing process to lift, tone, and tighten loose skin on the brow, neck, and under the chin.
What are the side effects of VOLUMA?
A: In the hands of a highly trained and qualified physician like Dr. Gavrila, major risks associated with injectable treatments are very limited. However, minor side effects such as itchiness, redness, swelling, and bruising around the treatment area can be common and should last no longer than a few days. Lumpiness caused by nodules can be treated with Vitrase which dissolves VOLUMA. Major complications such as vascular thrombosis is an extremely rare event.
